A tasting with a surprise

We were asked to organise a wine tasting at a hotel in Vallromanas, and we suggested doing something a little more original that we're passionate about, we call it “a surprise tasting”.

Last week, this is how we adapted our “Winemakers for a Day” team building activity to hotel facilities. During the grape harvest season, we usually carry out this activity at Finca Parera (Alt Penedès), vineyards dedicated body and soul to biodynamic agriculture.

First, we tasted some white wines that served as our reference, and then we challenged the group to create their own wines. We divided them into 4 teams with the aim of making a blend that would convince us it was the best creation of the day, a blend of single varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Xarel·lo, and Muscat. They had to name it, set a market price, and present a storytelling session to everyone about the birth of their wine.

And thank the hotel again Mas Salagros EcoResort 5* your kindness and total willingness to collaborate, and in particular to Andrea Fibla Figuereo, the events manager, this is now the second time the restaurant staff have looked after us so brilliantly, helping out and coming up with solutions on the spot – such as when the mobile app alerted us to a 80% storm warning just five minutes before we were due to start; we quickly moved everything indoors, and they let us use the space without batting an eyelid.
