This Christmas we held the sixth edition of the cook-off challenge, a classic that began for New Year's Eve 2018, with the inevitable pause in 2020 due to Covid.
It's impossible to end and begin the year any better than with this gastronomic showdown between a group of executives and their partners, who challenge each other to a unique tapas competition designed by all of them.
Every year, they stay at the same rural tourism house, in the Baix Empordà, a place that has a large kitchen, a generous dining room with an imperial table, and a splendid living room.
A couple of weeks beforehand, we'll do a first draw to determine the playing partners (read: teams), and two days beforehand, we'll do a second draw to determine the order of access to the kitchen on the same 31st, with shifts of a maximum of 2 hours to prepare the montaditos.
Participants must attend with the purchased ingredients to cook their dish, and they must demonstrate that they have not spent more than 30 euros to create the 10 portions.
The time for the competition has arrived, everyone to the table. We'll bring out the tapas according to a third draw, nobody knows whose tapa is whose because they've been carefully and secretly stored. Between one skewer and the next, the teams vote on three concepts: originality, presentation, and flavour.
We're finally offering a final ranking, though the result matters little; what truly counts is the great atmosphere amongst these colleagues and friends, making it clear that their personal relationship far surpasses their professional one.
