Creative Recycling

Waste as a raw material. Creative Recycling challenges the team to transform plastics, cardboard, and scrap materials into functional or artistic objects with real value.

Under the guidance of artists and designers specialising in upcycling, the team discovers that creativity and sustainability go hand-in-hand.

The result is a collection of unique pieces that are exhibited, donated, or kept as a symbol of what the team can create with what others discard.

How does Creative Recycling work?

The team receives a selection of recycled materials and a creative brief: what type of object to build and to what criteria. With the guidance of an artist specialising in upcycling, they work in groups on the design and construction of their pieces. At the end, a collective exhibition is held.

What is this activity working on within the team?

Creativity with restrictions, collective decision-making, and environmental awareness. Working with materials that are «worthless» to create something of value provides a very powerful perspective on resources and waste.
