There’s a kayaking trip worth its weight in gold, an excursion to the longest sea cave on the Costa Brava, “La Cova d’en Gispert,” measuring 150 metres in length, narrow in some sections, and with two parts (“Gallery and Chamber”) separated by a small stone table (“Taula”) that emerges like a islet.
The cherry on top would be to see it during the dawn of a few days of the year, generally between August 21st and 26th, when a phenomenon worthy of being observed occurs. The sun emerges directly, directing its rays of light into the cave, illuminating it completely in a very special way, as the different types of rock on the walls reflect purple and pink glints in some sections.
The thing is, you have to get up a little early and be there at 7 in the morning, quite possibly surrounded by a few tourists as interested as you are, so, if you can't get what you want, you make do with what you can get, we went this Easter without needing to get up early.
