Via Ferrata dels Patacons

We have a client who is addicted to via ferratas. Every year he brings us his team of young, geeky programmers. Some time ago he started with the Gorgues de Salenys (K1, in Romanyá de la Selva), then we took him to Castellot (K2 – K3 in El Penedés), and this year he has requested something much more intense. So this weekend we went to the Sierra de Prades, in Tarragona.

The Patacons (K-4) is a long via ferrata with varied sections. It demands concentration in its key areas, some of which are challenging. It is a via ferrata of almost 500 metres in length, with 4 Nepali bridges, a pillar requiring a mandatory abseil, several climbing sections, and the star attraction halfway through: a very aerial, overhanging 7-metre traverse.

Objectively, this is one of the great via ferratas in Catalonia. A real challenge that our client appreciated despite its difficulty.. It should be said that via ferratas are classified from K1 for beginners, up to K6 for experts. So this year our client has achieved an outstanding result..
