Bike ride

Last week we delighted in a cycling route through a rural area, taking in a genuine heritage treasure. The excursion had a common thread: the medieval architecture of remarkably preserved old towns. 

A dream itinerary along little-uneven back roads, one of the best ways to discover part of the Baix Empordà. The region is perfect for this type of activity, as it is located in the heart of a territory full of breathtaking spots. 

Peratallada, Palau-Sator, Ullastret, Pals, it's like travelling back thousands of years, they seem plucked from a fairytale, enclosures imbued with a special atmosphere of peace and tranquility, places where everything seems to be sculpted from stone. Walls, towers, castles, arches and ivy clinging to the walls of buildings that shape these small, feudal-looking settlements.
