There is a dedicated route to Spain's most charming villageshttps://www.lospueblosmasbonitosdeespana.org/We don't know what determines entry onto this list, but we went to visit Ansó, in the Jacetania region of Huesca province. This village became part of this route in 2015, and we can confirm it's an absolute gem. We then visited others that also belong to this route, such as Aínsa, Alquézar, and Sos del Rey Católico, all of which are truly beautiful. However, we would like to highlight that the most beautiful of all the places we've had the opportunity to visit is not included on this route, which is rather surprising. Roda de Isábena, the smallest village in Europe with a Cathedral, is a compact urban area but full of evocative corners. Its inhabitants tell us that the local council has already applied for it to be included. So, we're not entirely sure who chooses who gets onto this list, but this last village is an absolute marvel.
