Popular culture has it that, very grateful for being taken in during a storm, Saint Martin promised that each year, after the cold arrived, farmers would have a few days of good weather so they could gather their crops.
In my homeland, we call it l’estiuet de Sant Martí (Saint Martin's summer), and last Tuesday the 11th, Saint Martin of Tours' day, was a truly summery day that caught us riding quad bikes through the Garraf Natural Park.
