The Gorgs of Les Planes d’Hostoles

By no means do we want to seem chauvinistic, but sometimes we get the feeling that we travel very far to discover places that we also have at home, we just don't know them.

Yesterday, thanks to a client who asked us to prepare a post-holiday welcome orientation for their team, we discovered Els Gorgs de les Planes d’Hostoles, in the south of the Girona region of La Garrotxa, known for its volcanic geology. The area is quite rainy, and the abundance of water along with a rocky subsoil means everything is very green and there are numerous watercourses. In Les Planes d’Hostoles, the Cogolls stream and the Brugent river converge, and along their course, both feature numerous waterfalls and pools of water, some little-known and difficult to access, while others, like the Molí dels Murris, dazzle with their beauty.

The team-building activity was very good, but today we want to highlight the natural wonder we explored. A luxury habitat that is key to many plant and animal species, containing water all year round and serving as a refuge for many aquatic species during the dry season.
