The Cloister of Saint Anne

The cloister of the parish church of Santa Anna is another of the magical enclaves of the Gothic Quarter that we use in our treasure hunts.

This is one of those sites unseen by the eye, of beautiful medieval craftsmanship, with a small garden that floods the space, as if it were the courtyard of a Gothic palace instead of the cloister of a secluded church.

And this monastery has ended up hidden among the city's most commercial streets, and one enters the cloister believing that, at any moment, Romeo and Juliet are going to appear from any corner.

Furthermore, the parish has its doors open to the “homeless”, let's say it acts as a field hospital offering food and shelter. At the entrance to the church, you can see the statue Jesus homeless, a representation of Jesus sleeping on a bench, a symbol of the homeless.

In the temple, they explain that it's a serious wound of large cities and that it can only be healed through personal relationships. Active listening isn't so much about problem-solving as it is about gratuitous connection towards the suffering person, creating a space of reciprocity that breaks down prejudices and differences.
