Wind, sail, and the crew at the helm. The Regatta Challenge takes groups to compete in regattas aboard yachts with a skipper: no prior experience needed, learning to work with the wind and with each other.

Sailing is a perfect metaphor for teamwork: if you don't coordinate, the boat doesn't move forward. If you coordinate well, the speed is surprising.

How does the Regatta Challenge work?

Teams are distributed across sailboats with professional skippers who instruct and guide during the regatta. Following a practice session, the boats compete on a marked course. Scores are kept for each race, and a prize-giving ceremony is held at the harbour at the end.

Real-time coordination, trust in each person's role, and the ability to make quick decisions with incomplete information. The regatta makes team leadership and communication dynamics very directly visible.
