Barcelona receives the award for best congress and meetings destination

We share this great news. Barcelona has received this award for the third time in the last four years. The Word Trade Awards they recognise our city as the best, having also been so in 2014 and 2015, while Paris was in 2016. Since 1993, the winners have been announced annually after an extensive selection process involving hundreds of thousands of professionals from around the world and millions of travellers.

Meetings and business tourism is the segment that generates the greatest impact for us, more so than other sectors of the economy. According to the latest data, meetings and business tourism in Barcelona generates direct economic revenue of €1.5 billion per year.
