Sunset from a hot air balloon

Balloons float because the air trapped inside is heated by a burner, making it less dense than the air outside. The most important thing is to fly at dawn or dusk, when there is a sharp change in temperature, in this way the aircraft can gain height within the updrafts of rising thermal currents that rebound off the ground.

That said, with this type of aircraft, you know where you're taking off from, but never where you're going to land. With no propulsion system of any kind, balloons are carried along by air currents, and can only control their altitude using the burner to ascend and a valve that cools the internal air to descend.

Last Thursday we had a spectacular late-afternoon flight, witnessing a truly magical landscape, and we were able to capture these images from the support vehicle, shots that were very well received by the client.
